Enrichment Opportunities
Brush up on your musical skills…
Orchestra Workshop is an Arizona Western College orchestral class that teaches the very beginner up through the three to five year string player. Students learn:
- to read music,
- the fundamentals of basic music theory,
- and ensemble playing on violin, viola, cello, or bass.
The Yuma Orchestra Association has a scholarship and instrument loan program to help ease the costs.
One AWC Orchestra Workshop session is available.
The Orchestra Workshop session is held on Monday evenings from 6:00–9:15 pm. It is divided into three levels of playing expertise at Cibola High School. Call Kathy Younker at 314–0735 for information.
Both classes are open to anyone from fourth grade and up. Either instructor can give you information to help you choose the class that is best suited to your needs, location, and time schedule.
